The cybersecurity capstone requires students to conduct a semester-long project that provides hands-on practice and assessment of their cybersecurity skills.

Prerequisites: Senior Standing, CYB 331, 332, 335, and 435
Learning Outcomes:
Students will be able to:
Address a cybersecurity project via an open-ended problem as part of a team, utilizing cybersecurity engineering tools and methods
Define the problem or system issue, determine requirements to address it.
Analyze alternative approaches and design a solution that addresses the issue.
Follow the design to implement the solution.
Validate and verify that the solution addresses the problem.
Demonstrate written and oral communication skills necessary to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
Interact with the client to determine appropriate criteria and constraints on the design, and the appropriate solution to satisfy the client's needs.
Document and present the design, implementation, and results by the following means:
Prepare and deliver various written technical reports as requested by the client.
Prepare and deliver effective professional presentations.
Function in a team environment successfully.
Document teamwork processes used, and demonstrate ways that they contributed to team progress during the project
Use collaboration tools for project management, design, and implementation
Apply ethics and professionalism, and demonstrate skills in project management
Have the ability to plan, organize, attend, and conduct project meetings with stakeholders
Plan and manage a design project, including time management
Identify ethical implications/considerations of the project
Explain the need for, and engage in, continuing professional development.
Justify which data security protocols, tools, and techniques are appropriate for a given situation.Design solutions for defending against side-channel attacks and attacks on implementation.
