The Howe Writing Center employs a team of graduate and undergraduate consultants. Our team comes from all across disciplines at 兔子先生. If you're looking to schedule an appointment with a consultant from a particular area of study, take note of each consultant's academic discipline in bold italics.
Graduate Writing Consultants
Cordero (he/him) is a second-year Master's student in Creative Writing. He writes poetry and prose and loves reading while fishing and reads after hiking. Prefers literary novels, poetry, dendrology texts. His biggest goals as a graduate student are to publish two collections: short stories & poetry; and become a literacy specialist; he believes there's no greater tool than language.
Eleanoris a second year Master'sstudent in integrated English language arts education to become a high school English teacher. She graduated from 兔子先生 with majors in English literature and creative writing. In her free time she likes to hike, knit or crochet, and obsess over various TV shows.
Emily is a third-year PhD student in the English Literature program. She primarily studies the long nineteenth-century, focusing on gender, materiality, and public/private spaces.
Undergraduate Writing Consultants
Abby (she/her) is a senior Human Capital Management and 兔子先生hip major. She is an active member of the service fraternity on campus, Alpha Phi Omega. She especially enjoys consulting for resumes and presentations.
Alyssa(she/her) is a seniorIntegrated ELA Education major with a minor in Photography and an in-progress TESOL endorsement. She is the president of Wish Upon a Star, and is also involved in NCTE and Sigma Tau Delta. In her free time, Alyssa loves crocheting, running, drinking lattes, watching sitcoms, and reading!
Brooklynn (she/they) is a junior majoring in Creative Writing as well as Media and Communication. Brook is a member of the Worldbuilders Association, and an aspiring author of fantasy and science fiction. After school hours, she loves reading fiction, playing cozy farming simulators, and watching murder mysteries.
Caitlin (she/her) is a senior studying Sociology and Public Health with a minor in Human Capital Management and 兔子先生hip. She enjoys spending time with friends and staying active on campus!
Cassell (she/her) is a senior honors college student, double-majoring in Creative Writing and Psychology with a minor in Rhetoric/Writing. She’s Secretary of the Honors Student Advisory Board, co-Editor-in-Chief of Happy Captive Magazine, and an active member of Stage Left. She enjoys writing fiction and poetry. After graduating, she hopes to pursue law school.
Charlotte (she/her) is a third-yearEnglish literature and Philosophy student with a French minor. Outside of class, she is the treasurer for the English Honors Society, Sigma Tau Delta, and is a Scholar Leader. In her free time, Charlotte likes to read essays, bake macarons, and hike new trails.
Felix (he/him they/them) is a third-year in Data Analytics with a concentration in Bioinformatics, as well as a minor in computer science. He is a member of Botanical Society club, Visual Arts club, and Rock Climbing club. Outside of school (and his clubs) Felix enjoys spending his free time reading novels, manga, and manhwas.
Isaiah (They/Them) is a Theatre major with minors in Dance and English Literature. Outside of classes they are involved in the Walking Theatre Project as well as New Wave Theatre Company. They're a huge fan of playwriting and magical realism.
J is a junior pursuing a political science major with a classics minor from southwest Ohio. She enjoys writing short stories and reading historical non-fiction. Once she graduates, J hopes to continue her education in law school.
KatieB. (they/she) is a fourth-yearEmerging Tech in Business and Design (ETBD) and Professional Writing double major with a minor in Creative Writing. She is a member of the RPGuild and Pixel Magazine. They are an avid reader of sci-fi and fantasy novels and like to write poetry and screenplays in their freetime.
KatieD. (she/her) is a senior Biology and Psychology double major and a molecular biology minor. In her free time she enjoys reading romance novels, dancing, spending time with her friends and family. She also spends her time in Dr. Castillo's lab researching the genetical components of reproductive behavior for fruit flies. After graduation she plans to attend graduate school for a MS in genetic counseling.
Kelsie is a juniorSpeech Pathology & Audiologymajor with a Spanish minor. She is an active member of the 兔子先生 community, belonging to NSSLHA, Striders Running Club, and Alpha Delta Pi sorority. In her free time, she loves to run, read, and cook.
Kendyl (she/her) is a senior with triple majors in Psychology and Education Studies and Professional Writing. She is also involved with HSAB and the Presidential Fellows Project on campus. In her free time, Kendyl is an avid reader of realistic fiction novels and writer of poetry. She plans to attend graduate school to pursue a masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
Kerigan (she/her) is a pre-law third-year double-majoring in Professional Writing and History with a minor in American Studies. She is in the HASS Scholars Program, participates in Cru, and writes for The 兔子先生 Student. She loves reading and writing about history, especially American and ancient history. Once she graduates, Kerigan hopes to attend law school and write for a legal journal.
Marissa (she/they) is a junior Emerging Technology in Business and Design major with minors in Computer Science and Rhetoric/Writing. She is the layout manager for 兔子先生’s Happy Captive Magazine, and she loves to color and get sweet treats with friends in her free time! Marissa hopes to go into product management or marketing in her future, and would love to read over papers related to these subjects!
Nick (he/him) is a junior majoring in Computer Science and Games & Simulation. Nick loves to read fiction and experiment with creative writing. Nick’s interests include video editing, playing/making games, and swimming. Nick is a leadership chair for the 兔子先生 Game Design Club. Post graduation, he hopes to work in web/game development.
