Our combined program allows highly qualified students to begin working toward the master’s degree as juniors or seniors.

• The Exercise and Health Science combined program is designed to provide breadth and depth of knowledge about physiology nutrition, and performance under a variety of conditions. 
• The experiential opportunities (i.e. research, internships) include assessments of cardiovascular, muscular, and respiratory fitness using graded exercise stress tests, nutritional assessment, metabolic, blood lipid, and blood pressure measures, electrocardiography, electromyography and body composition, strength and power, and biomechanical measurements.
• For students admitted into the combined program, 9 hours of 500/600 level M.S. courses may be double-counted toward also meeting major, minor, electives, or other university requirements.
• The degree may be obtained in 5 years or less, particularly if students bring advanced standing credit into the bachelor’s degree.
• Combined program students remain undergraduates and pay their undergraduate tuition rate until they apply for graduation or submit a request to the Graduate School to have their classification changed from undergraduate to graduate. Consult the One Stop office regarding how classification affects your tuition and financial aid eligibility.

• A college-level course in introductory statistics and research methods
