Which Computer and Information Technology Program is for me?

The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology prepares students for careers in today's technology industry through hands-on learning, specialized coursework, and a year-long capstone experience. The curriculum emphasizes modern software development practices, including DevOps, deployment pipelines, and Agile methodologies, while integrating artificial intelligence across the program to prepare students for the technologies shaping today's IT workforce.

You can select a focus area for a deeper dive into your particular interest in Agile or Software Development.

The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology with a major in Cybersecurity and Networking prepares students to protect the digital systems, networks, and information that businesses and organizations rely on. Through applied coursework and hands-on labs in virtual environments, students develop practical skills in cybersecurity, networking, information assurance, and digital security. Graduates are prepared for careers such as cybersecurity analyst, compliance officer, ethical hacker, information assurance specialist, network administrator, network monitoring specialist, and network security specialist.

The Associate of Applied Science in Computer and Information Technology provides a workforce-focused education that prepares you for immediate employment while creating opportunities for continued learning. Choose a concentration in Networking or Software Development and develop hands-on skills to install, manage, secure, develop, and support today's computing systems, preparing you for careers across a wide range of IT environments.

For students who decide to continue their education, the AAS can also serve as a strong foundation for pursuing a bachelor's degree.

The Cybersecurity Administration minor prepares students across all majors to better understand and address the growing security challenges facing today's connected world. Through applied coursework, students learn to identify threats and vulnerabilities and evaluate, monitor, and strengthen networks, infrastructure, servers, and endpoints against cyber threats. Students also gain hands-on experience with red team and blue team techniques, including penetration testing, while completing coursework that can help prepare them for sought-after industry security certifications.

The Data Intelligence Through Information Technology minor prepares students to effectively manage and use data across a wide range of industries and organizations. Through applied coursework, students gain experience with tools and techniques spanning the entire data lifecycle, including data storage, management, analysis, use, and presentation. Students develop practical data skills that complement their primary field of study and help them transform data into meaningful information for informed decision-making.

You'll build your skills from the ground up, beginning with computing fundamentals and progressing into areas such as programming, networking, cybersecurity, databases, cloud technologies, DevOps, and systems administration.
