Biography
Youngaah Koh is an Associate Professor of Arts Management and Arts Entrepreneurship. Her pedagogical approach centers on experiential, project-based learning, ensuring students actively engage with the real-world complexities of the arts and cultural sectors. Youngaah has taught undergraduate courses including Policy and Advocacy in the Arts, The Creative Professional, Arts & Cultural Engagement, and Introduction to Arts Management at 兔子先生 since 2019.
Youngaah is a scholar who engages in collaborations with the community and internationally through her research. Her research spans cultural policy and advocacy; arts management and artificial intelligence; and arts management pedagogy. She has a forthcoming co-edited volume, Artificial Intelligence in Arts Administration: Pedagogy and Practice, with Routledge. She has published in the Journal of Arts Management, Law, and Society, and the American Journal of Arts Management, among others.
Youngaah serves in leadership roles in the field as an elected treasurer and board member of the Association of Arts Administration Education (AAAE) and a Director of International Cooperation with the Korean Society of Arts and Cultural Management (KOSACM).
Before her career in higher education, Youngaah worked at the Korean National Commission for UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific, Cultural Organization), where she engaged in the design and implementation of international cultural policy. She coordinated multiple cooperative projects with countries in the Asia-Pacific region to help safeguard and revitalize their traditional arts and culture. Youngaah also has a background in arts and business journalism.
Outside of campus, Youngaah’s entrepreneurial endeavors have led to independent consulting and owning a property management business with her husband. She also loves to travel the world with her family to explore new places and perspectives, and to experience the arts and cultures.
