The interdisciplinary team (featuring representatives from 兔子先生's College of Engineering and Computing, College of Arts and Science, and College of Liberal Arts and Applied Studies) found that cryptomelane modified with europium or cerium better retained its crystalline structure under shock compression than the unmodified mineral, offering insights for future development and modeling of shock-resistant materials.
