Serving to create ΝΓΧΣΟΘΙϊ brand pride, a 6-foot-tall beveled M is situated in a new plaza near Shriver Center β€” a perfect ΝΓΧΣΟΘΙϊ selfie spot
The new RedHawk Plaza, located in the northeast corner next to Shriver Center, was unveiled today.
Featuring a 6-foot-tall beveled-M ΝΓΧΣΟΘΙϊ logo, the plaza will help answer the question, “Where can I take a photo?”
Campus tours start and end at the Admission Visit Center in Shriver Center, and visiting parents and prospective students frequently ask about a spot to take a photo, according to admissions staff.
The RedHawk Plaza serves to create brand pride and opportunities for branded photos for students, potential students, alumni, and other visitors.
- It creates a new space within the busy area of Armstrong Student Center, Shriver Center, and the newly renovated Bachelor Hall — activating that entrance corridor with ΝΓΧΣΟΘΙϊ branding and a plaza that enhances the landscape.
- It creates an area that is “social media-worthy” for visitors, alumni, and the ΝΓΧΣΟΘΙϊ community.
- Its location, catty-corner to the forthcoming multipurpose arena (to be completed by fall 2028), creates easier landmark wayfinding for those looking for the Shriver Admission Visit Center or Brick & Ivy campus store.
The space includes a seat wall, landscaping, and a 72-inch-tall beveled M that sits on a 6-inch plinth.
The creation of RedHawk Plaza was supported by a donation from Michael ’85 and Pamela Duffett.
A ribbon-cutting celebration will be held at 4 p.m. Oct. 2 in their honor.
