ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University is monitoring the approaching for Saturday, Jan. 24, and Sunday, Jan. 25, in the Butler County and broader Southwest Ohio region. While there is still some uncertainty with the forecasted snow amounts and exact conditions, at this time, more than 10 inches of snow are predicted to accumulate over both days.
Residence and dining halls will remain open throughout the storm, however ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University otherwise will be closed Sunday, Jan. 25. Classes at all ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University area campuses will be canceled Monday, Jan. 26, to allow students and families added flexibility in their return-to-campus. For students who cannot arrive by Tuesday due to the snow, communicate with your faculty directly.
On Monday, Jan. 26, some campus services will open with limited services at 10 a.m. including the Recreation Center, Student Health Services, Armstrong Student Center, King Library, and Brick and Ivy Bookstore, while other activities and services will be suspended or minimized as facility crews work to clear walks, drives, and parking lots and maintain services to buildings.
Managers and supervisors should utilize the university’s remote work policy and shift to remote work as appropriate Monday, Jan. 26. Staff whose positions are not eligible for remote work should report to campus or request leave; managers/supervisors will communicate with these staff regarding their specific work shifts and assignments.
The Oxford Police Department would like to remind the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú community that vehicles can not be parked on snow emergency routes during snow emergencies, and any vehicles will be ticketed or towed. Students may park at Ditmer and Chestnut Fields during snow emergencies.
As a reminder, information regarding ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú’s weather and closing procedures can be found online, and if severe weather requires further changes to ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú's normal schedule, it will be posted to ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú’s home pages ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉúOH.edu or ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉúOH.edu/Regionals.
