New copy paper recycled content requirements for departments support sustainability efforts

As of Aug. 1, copy paper purchased by ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University departments is required to contain 30% minimum post-consumer recycled content. All other office paper (copy paper) will be blocked in the NetPAC / Office Depot catalog to help reach this goal. 

  • If a department has a project or requirement to use non-recycled paper, those requests can be supported with proper justification or explanation of services. Please send those requests to purchasing@miamioh.edu. 
  • All requests will be reviewed on an individual basis, and no blanket requests for exemption will be approved.
  • Please address any questions to purchasing@miamioh.edu.

This requirement aims to contribute to ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú’s sustainability efforts, including decreasing the use of paper.  ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú recently received its third STARS Gold rating for sustainability achievements from the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education.
