ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University’s Oxford campus is growing with the construction of two academic buildings, facility renovations, and continued energy systems conversions. The newly renovated Lee and Rosemary Fisher Innovation College@Elm building in partnership with the city of Oxford has created an Innovation and Creativity Corridor along College Avenue and Elm Street uptown. 

• The new Clinical Health Sciences and Wellness facility opened in May, welcoming the inaugural cohort of ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú's new Physician Associate Studies program. Nursing and Speech Pathology and Audiology students begin classes in the building Aug. 28. A grand opening ceremony will be held Sept. 14.

McVey Data Science 

Construction is expected to be completed for use in January 2024. 

ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú broke ground in October 2021 on McVey Data Science, an 87,000-square-foot space located behind Benton Hall. The building — part of the STEM corridor — will house the department of Emerging Technology in Business + Design, as well as the departments of Statistics and Computer Science and Software Engineering, the Armstrong Institute for Interactive Media Studies, and the Center for Analytics and Data Science.

Central Quad Energy Systems Conversions: Completed (Aug. 10)

Central Quad energy systems conversions will be complete by fall semester 2023

ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú's Energy Systems department has been converting nine buildings in the center academic quad from steam heating systems to energy efficient heating hot water (HHW) systems.

King Library, Hall Auditorium, McGuffey Hall, Bishop Hall, Alumni Hall, and Irvin Hall are being converted in the second and final phase of this multi-year project. 

This will complete Project 4 of ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú's Utility Master Plan that began 10 years ago. By 2027, most of the buildings on the Oxford campus will be off steam and heated and cooled by geothermal or heating hot water.

Bell Tower opens with new delivery ands ghost kitchen options Aug. 28.

Bell Tower’s three ghost kitchen concepts – southwest, grill, and Asian cuisines – will be available via delivery or in a pick-up locker. Ghost kitchens, which are contactless mobile ordering dining options, help eliminate long lines for time-consuming orders. Students with Diplomat meal plans can use their meal swipes to purchase to-go combos.

The ghost kitchen concept also allows Bell Tower to easily change concepts and adapt to the preferences of the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú community.

Patrons can place an order through the  or from one of Bell Tower’s convenient kiosks. Orders will be ready in one of Bell Tower’s pick-up lockers or delivered around campus by a Starship autonomous robot.

Starbucks at Bell Tower will also operate as a ghost kitchen with pick-up and delivery. While the ghost kitchen and Starship robots are expected to be available Aug. 28, the first day of fall semester, Starbucks will join in late September.

Renovations of Ogden Hall continue through winter 2024. It will reopen for housing in fall 2024.
