Edupreneurship Scrimmage tackles teacher recruitment and retention

The College of Education, Health, and Society and the Council on Social Entrepreneurship (COSE) hosted an Edupreneurship Scrimmage on Friday, April 11, in McGuffey Hall. The event brought together students, faculty, and local school district leaders to explore innovative approaches to teacher recruitment and retention. Participants worked in teams to brainstorm creative solutions, applying entrepreneurial thinking to one of education’s most pressing challenges.

Empowering Educators with Innovation in Mind

EHS is proud to host free, flexible, and future-focused learning modules developed in partnership with the Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio Department of Higher Education. These self-paced resources help K-12 educators explore emerging topics and practical tools in computer science and artificial intelligence—no prior experience required.

Learn the fundamentals of computer science and computational thinking through interactive modules that cover decomposition, abstraction, pattern recognition, and more. Activities and lesson plans are organized by grade band, with downloadable formats for use in any LMS. Educators who complete the modules receive a certificate of participation.

Designed for both preservice and in-service teachers, these new AI modules offer hands-on, practical learning about artificial intelligence—including Generative AI—and how it can be applied in the classroom. Complete with knowledge checks, applications, and resources, this module is available online and via LMS download. A certificate is awarded upon completion.
